Il-96-300 is a long-haul wide-body passenger airliner.  The use of the advanced engineering concepts in the fields of aerodynamics and aircraft systems design provide a high level of safety and efficiency of aircraft operation.

Il-96-300 meets all of the environmental-protection standards and can be operated in all regions of the globe. The aircraft is allowed to fly at high altitude airfields and also capable of performing landing in accordance with the category ICAO IIIA and IIIB.

Il-96-300 first took off on 28 September, 1988.

Type Certificate No.ST233-Tu-204-120SE/D10 was issued in December 1992.

Carriage of passengers began in July 1993.
