Kazan, November 28. The Kazan Aviation Production Association named after S.P. Gorbunov has handed over the second Tupolev Tu-214 medium haul twin jet to Transaero.
The airline customer has taken delivery of the new aircraft in frame of the contract signed between Transaero and Finance Leasing (FLC), a member in the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC).
The airline accepted its first Tu-214 on 23 April 2007. Three more aircraft of the type are scheduled for delivery in the 2009-2010 timeframe.
The Tu-214 is powered by two Perm Motor Complex PS-90A turbofan engines. It has a maximum takeoff weight of 110.75 tons, and cruise speed of 830-850 km per hour. The maximum range of the Tu-214 with 210 passengers in all-economy cabin configuration is 6.200 km. With 164 passengers in a typical two-class cabin the maximum range increases to 7.200km.
