Ulyanovsk, October 27, 2008. – The first Tu-204-120CE cargo aircraft (serial number 030) was delivered to the customer, Air China Cargo, during a ceremony that was held at the Aviastar-SP aircraft-building plant. The aircraft was delivered according to the Contract signed by Air China Cargo, Egyptian Company “Sirocco Aerospace International”, Tupolev and Aviastar-SP on September 2001. The ceremony was attended by top representatives of the plant, Tupolev, Sirocco, United Aircraft Corporation, the RF Ministry of Industry and Trade, as well as by leaders of Air China Cargo and representatives of the Interstate Aviation Committee (AR IAC) and the China Civil Aviation Authority.
Tu-204-120CE cargo aircraft is created on the basis of the Ту-204-120 mid-range passenger aircraft and is equipped with Rolls-Royce RB211-535 engines and an English-language cockpit. In July of 2007 the aircraft received type certificate №VTC0185A from the People’s Republic of China Aviation Authority. On October of 2008, EASA granted Тu-204-120СЕ with a European type certificate, enabling promotion of the aircraft to the European market.
Currently, Aviastar-SP is continuing its work on the contract with Air China Cargo: two more Ту-204-120СЕ aircraft are expected to be delivered to the Chinese carrier in 2009.
Russia’s United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) forges corporate and business processes to form the Commercial Aviation Division. In accordance with the decision of the UAC’ Board of Directors, JSC «Sukhoi Civil Aircraft» and LLC «UAC – Integration center» will join the PJSC «Irkut Corporation» as branches.
The ASEAN countries would purchase more than fourteen thousand new commercial aircraft at a total value of 625 billion US dollars (in current catalog prices) till 2038. This is stated in the "Market Survey of Southeast Asia (ASEAN countries)", published by the Russia’s United Aircraft Corporation (UAC).
